Honda Civic Type R Tachometer Evolution | 3D Framed Display
Product description
Six Needles. Six Generations. One Redline Philosophy.
Honda built the Type R around a single idea: the engine should reward you for using all of it. Every generation restated that idea through the one instrument the driver actually watches. The EK9's tach climbs past 8,000 rpm because a hand-ported B16B earned the right to. Twenty-five years later the FL5 shows the same information on a screen, but the redline still sits where it always did — at the far end, waiting. This display puts all six faces in one frame so the argument reads left to right.
What's in the frame
Six tachometers, one per generation, each reproduced as a separate layered element with its own depth. The EK9 (1997–2000) with its black face and yellow needle. The EP3 (2001–2005), ivory-dialled and unmistakably of its decade. The JDM-only FD2 (2007–2010) under its hooded binnacle. The FK2 (2015–2017), the first turbocharged Type R and the one that took the front-wheel-drive Nürburgring record. The angular FK8 (2017–2021). And the FL5 (2022–present), fully digital, switching its whole layout between Comfort, Sport and +R.
How it's built
Each piece is assembled by hand, not printed. The components sit on a solid wood backboard inside an aluminium alloy frame, behind an acrylic glazing panel, with the parts physically layered so the display throws real shadows and changes as you move past it. Mounting hardware is included and it arrives ready to hang. Free worldwide shipping, with delivery typically 12 to 26 days.
Who it's for
The Honda enthusiast who can date a Type R from the instrument cluster alone — and there are more of those than most people expect. It works especially well in a study or home office where the dial detail can be read up close, and it settles the "which generation" conversation by simply including all of them.
