Product description

Six Dials. One Redline That Kept Climbing.

The GT3 exists because Porsche kept asking how far a naturally aspirated flat-six could be pushed before the road-car rulebook broke. The answer moved every generation. The 996.1 arrived in 1999 with a Mezger engine derived from racing and a redline most sports cars could only aspire to; by the 992 the tachometer reads past 9,000 rpm on a car you can drive to work. This display puts six of those instruments in one frame, in order, so the climb is visible rather than argued about.

What's in the frame

Six GT3 tachometers, each reproduced as a separate layered element with its own depth: the 996.1 GT3 that started it, the 996.2 GT3 RS, the 997.2 GT3 RS 4.0 — the last Mezger and the one collectors chase hardest — the 991.1 GT3 with its first PDK, the 992.1 GT3 RS with its yellow-ringed dial, and the 992.2. Read left to right and the redline creeps upward across two and a half decades.

How it's built

Each piece is assembled by hand, not printed. The components sit on a solid wood backboard inside an aluminium alloy frame, behind an acrylic glazing panel, with the parts physically layered so the display throws real shadows and changes as you move past it. Mounting hardware is included and it arrives ready to hang. Free worldwide shipping, with delivery typically 12 to 26 days.

Who it's for

The Porsche owner or collector who follows the GT line specifically — the people for whom a Carrera was never quite the point. Because it covers six generations rather than one car, it also works when you know they are a GT3 person but not which generation they would pick. Best placed where the dial detail can be read close up: a study, a home office, a hallway.

Not a poster. A wall-mounted collection with real 3D presence.

Where Every Generation Chased the Redline

Where Every Generation Chased the Redline

In 1999 Porsche did something quietly radical: it took the Mezger flat-six — an engine with a direct line back to the 962 racing programme — and put it in a road car with a redline no rival could match. The 996.1 GT3 was not the fastest 911 on paper. It was the one that felt like it had been built by people who race. Every GT3 since has restated that idea by moving the same number further. The 996.2 RS added the badge and the intent. The 997.2 GT3 RS 4.0 closed out the Mezger era with the largest naturally aspirated flat-six Porsche had ever sold, and it remains the one collectors name first. The 991.1 brought PDK and an argument that has still not fully settled. Then the 992.1 RS wrapped its dial in yellow and made downforce the headline. What did not change is the instrument at the centre of it. In a GT3 the tachometer is not one gauge among several — it is the gauge, sitting dead ahead, telling you how much of the engine you have actually used. Six faces, six generations, one number that kept climbing.
