Product description

V8 Plus Two Motors. 918 Built. The Hypercar That Reset Porsche.

The 918 Spyder is the car that proved a hybrid could be the fastest thing Porsche made rather than the most sensible. A 4.6-litre V8 revving past 8,000 rpm, two electric motors, all-wheel drive, and a Nürburgring time that broke seven minutes when that still sounded impossible. Exactly 918 were built between 2013 and 2015. This display takes one apart and labels the pieces.

What's in the frame

The car deconstructed into components: body from above, cabin, wheels, the V8 and hybrid drivetrain, and the specifications behind the lap time. Each part is mounted separately on its own layer, which is what gives the frame depth a print cannot reproduce.

How it's built

Each piece is assembled by hand, not printed. The components sit on a solid wood backboard inside an aluminium alloy frame, behind an acrylic glazing panel, with the parts physically layered so the display throws real shadows and changes as you move past it. Mounting hardware is included and it arrives ready to hang. Free worldwide shipping, with delivery typically 12 to 26 days.

Who it's for

The Porsche collector who tracks the halo cars — 959, Carrera GT, 918 — as a single lineage. It reads as a design object to everyone else in the room and as a specification sheet to the person it was bought for.

Not a poster. A full spec breakdown with dimensional elements you can see from across the room.

Six Minutes, Fifty-Seven Seconds

Six Minutes, Fifty-Seven Seconds

In September 2013, a pre-production 918 Spyder ran the Nordschleife in 6:57. It was the first production car under seven minutes. Walter Röhrl was behind the wheel. The lap stood as a benchmark long enough to define an era. Porsche's brief for the project was unusual. The car had to be a hypercar that could plug into a wall socket. The engineering team's answer started at the back: a 4.6-liter naturally aspirated V8 derived directly from the RS Spyder Le Mans prototype, redlining at 9,150 rpm and making 608 horsepower on its own. Bolted to a 7-speed PDK gearbox sat one electric motor. A second electric motor drove the front axle. Combined output: 887 horsepower. Combined torque: 1,280 Nm. All-wheel drive. The Weissach Package stripped 41 kg out of the car with magnesium wheels, carbon fiber body panels, and a six-point harness. Active aerodynamics, rear-wheel steering, ceramic brakes — all standard. The numbers held up against everything: 0–100 km/h in 2.6 seconds, top speed 345 km/h, and 30 km of pure electric range on a full charge. Porsche capped production at 918 units. The list price was over $800,000 before options. Every car was spec'd by hand. A decade later, the 918 sits with LaFerrari and the McLaren P1 as the trio that defined the hybrid hypercar moment — and the Porsche is the only one of the three that's still the lap record holder for its launch year. That's why it's on this wall.
